Building Inspector

The Town of Somerset requires owners to obtain a permit prior to changing almost any part of a property if the change has a real value of $2,000 or more.  Permit fees vary. Please refer to the 2024-2026 Building Inspector's Agreement for Services schedule or contact the building inspector.

Required permits include: New Homes, Storage Sheds, Alterations,  Porchs, Decks, Garages, Electrical, Commercial/Industrial, Additions, Pools, Moving a House, Repairs, Fireplaces.
